Samsung The Frame installed flush on the wall or over the fireplace, with a custom bezel, Art Mode set up and the cables hidden, so it hangs like real art.

The Frame
Samsung's The Frame is built to look like framed artwork when you're not watching it. In Art Mode it shows paintings or your own photos with a matte, print-like finish, and it can be set to switch the display off when nobody's in the room. With its slim wall mount it sits almost flat against the wall, more like a picture than a TV.
Most Frame models also move their connections into a separate One Connect Box, linked to the screen by one thin cable, so the usual tangle of wires below the TV can live somewhere else. All of that only pays off if the installation is right: centered, level, flush and with no cable in sight. That's the part we take care of.

Over the Fireplace
Yes, and it's one of the most popular spots for it, because the mantel already frames the screen like a gallery wall. A few things need checking first: how much heat reaches the wall above the firebox, what the wall is made of (drywall over a chimney chase, brick and stone all mount differently), and how high the screen will sit, since the slim mount holds the TV flat instead of tilting it down.
We've hung Frame TVs over fireplaces with custom bezels, and on one install ran the cables through the wall and tucked a compact amplifier and in-wall speakers out of sight, so the finished wall showed nothing but the art. When the drywall had to be opened, it was cut with a vacuum running alongside so the room stayed clean.
Hidden Connections
The One Connect Box is where your cable box, streaming device, game console and sound system plug in, so where it lives decides how clean the wall looks. Common spots include:
The connection cable comes in a set length, and longer versions are available for many models when the box needs to go farther away. Power is handled with an in-wall kit made for that purpose rather than a loose cord inside the wall.
Art Mode
Art Mode looks its best when it's tuned to the room. The brightness and color tone need to match the light in the space so the image reads as a print instead of a glowing screen, and a digital mat around the artwork helps sell the effect. You can pick pieces from Samsung's Art Store, which is a subscription, or upload your own photos from your phone through Samsung's SmartThings app.
We set Art Mode up for your room's lighting, choose sensible sleep and motion settings, and make sure you know how to swap the artwork whenever you feel like a change. Family photos, a favorite painting or a rotating slideshow all work.
Custom Bezels
The bezel is what turns The Frame from a thin TV into something that looks like a framed picture. Bezels attach magnetically, so they can be swapped later, and they come in different colors and wood tones, from Samsung and from other makers. Choosing one that matches your trim, mantel, cabinetry or picture frames ties the TV into the room.
On a white fireplace surround, for example, a warm wood or bronze-toned bezel gives the screen the look of a real frame hanging above the mantel. We can help you choose a style that suits the room and fit it as part of the installation.
Sound
The Frame is thin, and thin TVs don't have much room for speakers. A soundbar mounted below the screen is the simplest upgrade, and there are slim models designed to sit neatly under a wall-mounted TV.
For a wall that shows nothing but the art, in-wall speakers paired with a compact amplifier, such as a Sonos Amp connected to the TV, keep the sound full while every piece of equipment stays hidden. That's the setup we used on one over-the-fireplace Frame install with in-wall speakers on either side. Our surround sound and in-wall speaker installation page covers the options in more detail.
Questions
Most Frame models include Samsung's slim wall mount in the box. It's designed to hold the TV close to the wall, which is a big part of the picture-frame look.
Not necessarily. Some people already have the TV and others want help choosing a size for the wall first. Tell us where you are in the process through the Contact Us form.
Sometimes. It depends on the wall depth, what's inside the wall and ventilation for the TV. We look at the wall before recommending it.
Any TV can be mounted cleanly with the wires hidden. See our TV mounting and wire concealment page for over-fireplace and mantel mount options.
We're based in Ann Arbor and install Frame TVs in nearby communities, including Dexter, Chelsea, Saline and Canton Township.
